HTML5 technology is the proposed next extensive major revision of HTML. It works on every platform, is compatible with older browsers, and handles errors gracefully. HTML5 adds many new syntactical features. These include the video, audio, and canvas elements. These features are designed to make it easy to include multimedia content on the web without having plug-in and APIs. Other new elements, such as section, article, header, and nav are designed to enrich the content. In this Today’s post showcased 46 Best Inspirational Examples of HTML5 Websites.

I took a survey yesterday that showed Bing using HTML5 video. The first page that shows a large photo and the search box was a video of crashing waves. Since it was a survey I can’t get back to it and it seems that Bing has not implemented it yet. Does anyone know of any page that uses a video background. I want to have a video background with other items over it for a web page on Hawaii.

I’m still interested in being a web designer, but would like to know whether or not I should learn flash since HTML5 is starting to become more prevalent in the future. Also, is there any other skills I need to learn? I’ve already know HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I might try to learn some JavaScript too but don’t want to get involved with programming languages since I’m not good with object oriented programming.

I was approach by a client to modify a css-based html5 website (not a WP theme), and I was wondering what is the best a way to accomplish this: Should I modify the existent stylesheet, or should I attach a new one to override the existing one?

I’m in the middle of developing a Rails application which requires some charts contained within it. The problem, I can’t find any gems that give an HTML5 chart. There are plenty for Flash, but I don’t want a flash chart. Anyone know of a good one for HTML5?

I’ve heard about this mostly because the iPad doesn’t support flash, but instead will support HTML5.
What is this?? (I know it has something to do with videos). Oh, and Wikipedia isn’t helpful. The explanation is too complicated.

I have a 100MB flash animation that triggers upon clicking an area of the screen. There’s no more interactivity beyond that. If I wanted to change this animation into something that’s iPad compatible (whether it’s HTML5 or something else), how would I go about doing that?

    Thanks!
