Hi guys! I’m a 15 year old girl, still in school etc. For me in the UK, it’s summer and I’m really wanting to sort of start up my own mini business. Obviously it wouldn’t be an official business, but I’m wanting to get bigger and let people know where I am.

I wanted people to come round to my house so I could do their make up for all occasions. Tonight I came up with some creative eye make up looks and put them on facebook, I got a few likes but obviously they won’t know I’m wanting to make something out of it.

Like I said, it’s the summer so I have plenty of time and i could probably earn some cash out of it too.

Any ideas on how to get bigger? Thanks guys

I read a story about a kid in the UK who found a product online and managed to become the exclusive UK Distributor of this and is now minted. I saw a really cool item online the other day (not the same one!) but it’s only really available in the USA (and on eBay) I’d really like to become the UK seller of this item but I’ve got no idea how to start – I’m not in the industry, I have no website etc etc. I have some experience of selling as I sell screen protectors on eBay, but this is a completely different item.
What do I need and need to do to get this company interested? They have a section on their website “Become A Dealer” but I think this is probably just in the USA but they are interested and I think this is really break this company in to the UK – I just don’t know how to start!

    Any help is appreciated,

My company provides customer service for a large retailer, both for their brick and mortar locations and suite of e-commerce sites. Recently I was put in charge of revamping our Knowledge Base in order to improve the quality of service that is provided to our guests.

I am looking for creative ways to build confidence in the system as many of our agents do not want to use the program. I have been rewriting the processes to fill in gaps, providing supplemental materials, we are rolling out live in-program demos in the form of video that we will embed, etc — but I still don’t seem to be having the impact I would like. The business is very complicated and uses 25+ programs to complete tasks and without actively engaging the agents I don’t see this resource being as helpful as it could be.

Our software is HTML based so I am looking specifically for suggestions on how to allow the program to be more interactive with HTML only. I know only rudimentary HTML so I am not sure what all is possible – any ideas?

So far I can only think of adding some sort of voting system for if the article was helpful, polls, possibly even comments that could be emailed to a list of administrators. Any thoughts?

I’ve in LOVE with technology. I fix computers, own a website (personal tech blog,) and a community forum. I’m a very experienced Linux and Wireless user and offer tech support. Somewhere along the way, I noticed “the reason I do all this is because I LOVE that smile people have when their issue is resolved.” I’m a very understanding person and I DON’T HATE, ever. I believe there’s a silver lining and good, even in murderers. We just have to know how to find it, and I myself have been through very, very much in my past. I also would love to go into Psychology and be a therapist, help people out.

The one thing that worries me is that there’s lots of math in programming, and I don’t particularly want to do programming, I’d rather do anything and everything else in computers/technology field. (Math is also my weakest subject, I have a C in Algebra. 70s. But all As and Bs in English, computer studies (according to tests I take online, not in college yet, will go this Aug.)

What do you think? I’ve been doing technology and computers for years, it’s my life. But I also know that I think I’d be good at psychology, because I’ve been through things not everyone experiences, and I’m understanding. I only hope I’d know what to say, but that would come naturally as you study, you know? I’m also very good at statistics, (okay, just “pretty good”), but people always told me I’d make a fantastic business man.

    Opinions on what to do?

I have to design a website for my e-commerce class. I’m not a very creative person and need some ideas for what type of site I should create. I don’t want it to be an “about me” type site. I need something that will really impress the professor because I didn’t do so well on my midterm.

Hi there, I was wondering what noncommercial means when it comes to using jQuery effect for a website that may bring in some profit.

For example, let’s say I wanted to use this effect of rating system for anything( product, service, etc):

and this effect’s Javascript page says
“Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported License”,

*The license is on this page:

then can I not create E-commerce website using this effect because the rating system are located under a product/service when someone purchase the product/service rated by the jQuery effect?

I am trying to create an e-commerce cite and I need a developer. I took estimates from some companies, but they are very high. I am not an expert with computer science, but I think that the work that has to be done is pretty straight-forward. I believe that a competent college student would be able to do it (with more time, but less money). Is there anyway I could find out about cheaper developing services. I am either looking for an knowledgeable individual or a small company that will not charge too much.

Please guide me in the right direction. Thank you!

What is the difference between Online Databases and E-Commerce? I don’t get it. I need to know for my homework, but my textbook just makes the two topics more confusing. I would ask my teacher but it is half term and so I can’t.

All I need to know is the difference between Online Databases and E-Commerce and an example of how an organisation will use it.

Talk about a small business start up!
What do I do now that I have imported wooden toys.
The products are unique and well received by customers in a local market. But I have to get these items out in a larger scale.
I have six months before I am broke. It would be nice to have a meager livelyhood by then.
Do you have suggestions on how I can sell these products?
Your response is very much appreciated.
    Thank You!

I’m a designer with 22 years of field experience and I am looking for advice. I created 2 products requiring an education before I can expect someone to make a purchase.

The first product is a 100% original design. CMS website… it is different from CMS sites such as Joomla because the templates are created from scratch and therefore can be incredibly creative. With the right hosting these sites include everything from a photo gallery to a blog to e-commerce all at one flat rate.

The second product combines a talent agency with web development services, allowing a website owner to give us a script and choose a model. We then have that model “walk on” to the site and be a spokesmodel for the company. It’s very exciting because not only are the prices pretty cheap but these videos load pretty quickly too.

How do I teach people about these great services?

I do NOT want to sell my work here, I am not soliciting. I only want to know HOW to sell this service with no salesmen.
I have not put the URL’s for these products because the last time I asked a similar question I was deleted and I wanted to get some answers before posting this:

You can check out the two products here: and … as you can see, I’ve already taken some of this advice.

In our e-commerce site for books, we wish to copy name of books, author, images, price ,description etc. (Not the contents of the book) from some other web site. Are we infringing any law like cyber laws or copyright acts etc.

  • joevsyou September 11, 2013 at 10:24 pm

So I have an e-commerce website and I found the perfect track for it. I emailed the recording company/artist, and they seem willing to work with me. However, I’m not sure what comes next.

I know there are documents involved, but I really have no idea as to what they are and how to go about this. Do we need a contract?

I don’t want exclusive rights to the song or anything, I just want it on my site and I don’t want to have any legal problems with regard to it later on.

Can someone who has had experience with this help me out? Please… I would appreciate it very much.

I would like to purchase this “Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium for Windows” at the price of USD$149.95, but is it worth it? What do you think?

Say there is a photo I’d like to use under a Creative Commons License with the non-commercial condition specified. I know I can’t sell this photo or charge people to view it, but can I use it on an e-commerce website where I sell other things? Can I use it on a site that generates revenue with Google Adsense or affiliates? Can I use it on a site that generates leads (gets people’s names and contact info), which I then use to profit in my business?

  • Thomas A September 21, 2013 at 7:38 am

I have built an e-commerce website which is ready to launch. I know I’ll need to register as a business but what other steps do I need to take and can I launch the site now or are there steps that I have to take before I do. I’m sorry if I’ve phrased things simplistically, that’s why some advice would be appreciated. Thanks a lot

  • toast October 3, 2013 at 8:42 am

I want to start an e-commerce and need an idea what fees (approximately) payment processing companies (such as ogone) charge the merchant. If it is too expensive I would consider Paypal which does look less professional.

What requires little upkeep? Like I am looking into selling some products online but I don’t want to have to be running to the post office every day to ship stuff especially if the products are cheap and I don’t much for it. I also have some great ideas for some good review websites that a lot of people would visit for advice. I want to replace my full time 1600/mo sales job. Its not allowing me to get anywhere. I am a very smart, creative, web savvy individual. I want to put my ideas to use finally and quit thinking about doing them. I know they would work I just want to know from experienced people in the field that can tell me what works. Pleeeeeease help.

Instead of listing my clothing designs and wholesale items on Ebay or other large online stores that charge high listing fees, are there some high quality e-commerce sites out there that are easy to build your online store on that are reasonable in hosting fees?

  • kass9191 October 25, 2013 at 7:53 pm

The website will be a comprehensive, one-stop resource for small to medium sized US companies wishing to reach out to world /global markets. Our site will serve as a virtual “export division” for our clients, and we will create and manage a dedicated export website for each of our clients for this purpose. We will be able to refer a great deal of business to the designers, SEOs, webmasters, artists, fulfillment services, e-commerce pros, hosting organizations and other web and e-commerce service provides due to our captive relationship with a growing number of clients. In effect, our website will be a profitable, real-time showcasing mechanism for creative, competent, aggressive web professionals who participate in the creation and operation of our “master” website. I am certainly amenable to using a number of professionals as part of a cooperative development team. This website, although rather complex, will be a dazzler, as it must. I seek true artists, visionaries and technologists!
